Woodworking and furniture design are Jochen Heinzmann's passions. Raised in a family deeply rooted in a second-generation joinery business, he was immersed in the boundless creative potential of crafting with timber from a young age.

In 2013, Jochen made a bold career move, leaving his engineering job to establish Tinkermade, setting up his workshop in the garage. His goal is to seamlessly blend traditional woodworking craftsmanship with contemporary design and techniques, resulting in distinctive pieces that seamlessly integrate into modern living spaces.

 
 
 
 
 

Always on the lookout for innovative approaches, Jochen seeks fresh perspectives on familiar products, striving to introduce unique elements into his creations. Whether it's reimagining the functionality of a box or experimenting with unconventional joint constructions, he consistently pushes the boundaries of his craft.

 


 

Inspired by the design philosophy of Dieter Rams, particularly his "Less but Better" ethos, Jochen infuses this minimalist mindset into every facet of his work. His passion for design extends beyond woodworking, encompassing a fascination with architecture, typography, and product design, evident in his diverse reading interests.
